This vibrant care community offers first class Dementia care, Nursing Care and Residential Care set among peaceful, landscaped gardens. The complex is easily assessable and is a short distance from the M42 with excellent transport links.
The site is an assisted living complex with residents living within the community pay significant amounts of money for their care; meaning its largely residential but patients requiring clinical excellence are at the forefront of your work; patients often opt in to their care rather than needing regular care; so assessing and implementing care plans and care changes/assessments is a large bulk of the role providing variety to nurses working in the position; the company are competitive and offer enhancements for additional hours picked up which is an extra £2/£3 per hour.
You would be assisted by other highly experienced nurses on shift and you would have two support workers to aid you in your one to one patient care, alongside this you will have expertly trained medication technicians minimising medication errors.
You will gain some advanced nursing skills in this position and be trained in syringe driver/venepuncture/peg feeding or obtain any updates you require for your portfolio. Any dementia specialised qualifications you can also obtain if you wish to work in this area and you will receive 60 hours or training prior to starting the role with plenty of online training modules which are university accreddited and on site supervision support with ongoing mentoring.
We are looking for an experienced Staff Nurses (RGN or RMN qualified) who have a passion for elderly care. At least a years' experience within this sector is vital, you will be a confident communicator and will be able to demonstrate leadership qualities when overseeing care staff.
Other responsibilities will include:
* Assess resident's health and wellbeing across a complex and changing caseload
* Acting as lead nurse for a select few patients and managing your own portfolio of patients acting as a named nurse to a select few patients
* Assist in the delivery of care to meet individual's health and wellbeing needs
* Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information
* Develop own knowledge and skills and that of others
* Provide a comprehensive overview during hand over
* Regular family liaison for your named patients
Currently offering a market leading hourly rate of £16.00 - £17.00 per hour the contracted hours on offer range from 20 to 42 per week so we can accomodate full time and part time nurses with hours that work around your commitments/childcare requirements.
You can choose between 12 hour shifts or shorter shifts which typically run as follows:
Earlies: 8am - 2pm
Lates: 2pm - 9pm
Nights: 9pm - 7am
Or as an alternative 12 hours shifts typically starting 8am - 8pm
